Fritz Lang – Portrait (TV) (2000)

Chimeras of Jan and Eva Svankmajer (2000)
Jan Svankmajer's name is found in all the world's encyclopedias – and by far not just those that specialize in the art. The viewer learns what it is cartoon art, when and where it originated and what "caricaturing", what are its themes, types (political, social and communal cartoon), who are its most prominent authors and key period in which they flourished, and vice versa decline. The film demonstrates the importance of humor, laughter and satire as a significant cultural phenomena. For inspiration kartikaturního seeing the world from the kind of humor to devastating sarcasm is ridiculous, even comical awkwardness in life and inexhaustible amount of human experience.
