Mr. Roberts (1955)
The small American cargo ship Reluctant, flying during the Second World War in the Pacific somewhere, is found benign officer, Lieutenant Roberts (Fonda), who is afraid that will not see any action before the war ended. Mo'adon Beit Ha'kvarot (2006)
After the establishment of Israel were the remains of the founder of Zionism, Theodor Herzl transferred to the mountain that now bears his name. There was established the cemetery where famous people buried today. At this point, after twenty years, meet a group of old people now. Besides the memories that give the dead, discussing philosophy, morality, guilt and conscience, hold picnics, reading poetry and thinking about the fate of the Jews. The document is supplemented by a personal story, in which the filmmaker Tali Šemešová follows two women, grandmother and aunt Mini Lena, who survived imprisonment in a concentration camp. Record their memories, asking questions and observing them in their natural environment to reveal family secrets and find the key to thinking, feeling and behavior of the war generation. Repeated meetings at the cemetery does not act oppressively or sadly, are rather rare moment in which it is possible to stop both the living and those dead. Meditative position is made more acute by poetic images from travels Mini and Lena. The film sensitively generation that survived the Holocaust, but still has enough power for rich and meaningful life.
